24/7: perpetual flux

The tree is rooted, steadfast, and solid. Yet it is subject to seasonal changes, undergoing a process of continual renewal. Viewed in this way, the tree represents permanence and change; as strength, longevity, and growth. As human inhabitants of the Ipswich region the tree can act as metaphor for our ability to change; to adapt, renew, and move forward.

Employing the metaphor of the tree and the process of photographic emulsion lifts these works offer a conceptual and textural presence that functions to shift our perception of permanence as an ideal.
